From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

United airlines flight #1545, a B-737-900, N37471, was a normally scheduled operation from las vegas, NV (klas) to Houston, TX (kiah). The flight had 6 crew, and 167 passengers on board. The flight departed las vegas on 04/13/2015 at 0045 local time (0745 z). The flight landed on runway 8R at iah, and subsequently departed the high speed taxiway ?nn? At approximately 0532 local time (10:32 z). There was not an emergency evacuation and there were no reported injuries. The METAR closest to the incident time (approximately 5 minutes prior) indicated the following: 05008KT 7SM -ra FEW005 SCT020 SCT050 OVC130. A period of heavy rain and thunderstorms fell at kiah from 37-18 minutes prior to arrival before diminishing to light rain. Maintenance inspectors ruled out mechanical failure as a contributing factor and verified all aircraft airworthiness records. The captain reported that the aircraft experienced a "firm" landing which resulted in the aircraft being left of the runway 8R centerline. The centerline was re-acquired before taking high speed taxiway nn. The aircraft subsequently experienced poor braking action, failed to negotiate the turnoff, and slid into the adjacent grass easement. Analysis of the asde-x ground radar indicated that the aircraft was traveling at an estimated 60 knots ground speed when the nn turnoff was initiated.

As the FAA filed it
