From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 04/25/2015 at approximately 1606:50Z a conventional gear aircraft, N2099V, groundlooped in a landing rollout at Mckinney national airport (ktki). There were no injuries. The aircraft sustained minor fabric damage to the left wing tip. The flight was a part 91 training flight involving a flight instructor and a commercial pilot student. The student was operating the controls. In the landing rollout, the plane began to weathervane into a right crosswind of approximately 13 knots. The instructor attempted to intervene, but the groundloop was not recoverable. In the groundloop, the plane made an uncontrolled turn to the right and tipped by centrifugal force to the left so that the left wing tip scraped the concrete runway, damaging the wing tip fabric. The plane did not nose over, and no propeller impact occurred.
