From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While cruising at 2800 ft. enroute from wausau, WI. (Auw) to Neillsville, WI. (Viq) engine RPM went from 2400 RPM to idle. Carb heat was applied and RPM returned to 2400. Approx. 4 min. Later RPM again dropped to idle and carb heat was again applied, RPM returned to 2400 and then immediately return to idle and ran rough. At that point carb heat had no effect. While attempting an off feild landing the engine quit, aircraft landed and impacted trees.
