From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 5/22/2015 pilot took off out of Aberden Idaho to take a look at his farm lands. While inspecting some wheat fields for rodent damage he descended to approximately 25 ft above the ground. He was aware of powerlines in the area and made a mental note to stay clear. He then became distracted and hit the power lines while climbing back out. He had wire cutters on the aircraft so he was able to maintain control and make a safe landing back at the airport. The flight lasted about 10 minutes.
