From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

This incident occurred during a part 61 training flight. The instructor and student were performing a short field takeoff from runway 10R with the student at the controls. The prevailing wind was 11O degrees at 5 knots.

The wind direction was now detected as coming from the left side of the acft. Prior to the take-off departure roll. During the takeoff departure roll and at approximately 60 KTS indicated airspeed , the acft. Rolled aggressively to the right while the acft. Was still on the runway. The sound of the propeller striking the runway was also heard. The student assuming that the right landing gear was collapsing, decided to continue the take-off; lifting the acft. Off the runway until it became airborne approximately 1O feet AGL. The landing gear was never retracted or extended by the instructor or student during the entirety of this incident.

The instructor assumed control of the acft and landed. Instructor then notified the tower of a possible landing gear problem and did not need emergency services. Acft. Taxied off runway 10 under its own power.

Instructor filed an asap report upon returning to the office.
