From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The accident occurred while the aircraft was spraying a pasture with herbicide to eradicate mesquite bushes. The pasture is approximately 5 miles south of Archer City, Texas, just east of state highway 79. Power lines run east and west across the northern part of the pasture. The aircraft was flying south bound and the main landing gear caught one of the power lines.

The aircraft came to rest approximately 1/2 mile south of the power lines.

It appears the aircraft was intact until it struck the ground. Both main gear sheared off the aircraft and the aircraft sustained significant damage.

The engine gearbox and propeller damage indicate the engine was making power at the time of the crash.
