From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 4, 2015, at approximately 1600 eastern daylight time, a Cessna C-195 aircraft, N9818A s/n 7497, landed and subsequently ground looped on runway 26 at kbqr , Lancaster new york. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed winds were light and variable to 7 mph and were not a factor. The flight originated at kbqr and was conducted under the provisions of title 14 code of federal regulations part 91.

The pilot performed a full preflight inspection and found no anomalies with the aircraft. The pilot stated that he taxied to runway 26 and performed his run up and noted no anomalies. The pilot reported the takeoff was normal with the exception of a slight pull to the right.

The pilot took off from kbqr and performed a low approach and then came in for a full stop landing. He landed on runway 26. The pilot stated that he touched down with both main gear and bounced once. The aircraft quickly settled to the ground and when the tail wheel touched down the aircraft significantly drifted to the right.

The pilot reported that the aircraft continued to pull to the right and departed the runway to the right and subsequently ground looped. During the ground loop the aircraft left main landing gear dug into the ground, but the wing did not make contact with the ground.

During a post flight examination, the pilot noted that the right main tire was ½ -3/4 flat. He also observed a small metal object possibly a finish nail in the right tire.
