From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was hired to conduct aircraft flight check for owner who is no longer current to fly. Pilot noted landing gear green indication on final and noted hydraulic pressure gauge normal for gear down. Touched down on mains okay but when nose gear touched it had a severe shimmy. Lifted nose wheel back up and slowed aircraft but shimmy still there on next contact. Applied brakes and reversers but nose gear collapsed on rollout about 70 mph. The propeller struck ground and aircraft slid on prop blades for several hundred feet. No damage to cowling as prop held aircraft up. No injuries or airframe damage.
