What happened

Mishap pilot (mp) was accomplishing currency training in his Maule. He landed on the paved runway vs the dirt strip he was used to. Large tundra tires combined with asphalt runway and pilots over-correction caused the aircraft to "ground loop" doing damage to the outboard of the right wing and right main gear.

44-709 Was accomplished in a manner that demonstrated mp's proper attitude to safe flight and compliance with all regulations.

MISHAP PILOT (MP) WAS ACCOMPLISHING CURRENCY TRAINING IN HIS MAULE. HE LANDED ON THE PAVED RUNWAY VS THE DIRT STRIP HE WAS USED TO. LARGE TUNDRA TIRES COMBINED WITH ASPHALT RUNWAY AND PILOTS OVER-CORRECTION CAUSED THE AIRCRAFT TO "GROUND LOOP" DOING DAMAGE TO THE OUTBOARD OF THE RIGHT WING AND RIGHT MAIN GEAR.

44-709 WAS ACCOMPLISHED IN A MANNER THAT DEMONSTRATED MP'S PROPER ATTITUDE TO SAFE FLIGHT AND COMPLIANCE WITH ALL REGULATIONS.
