From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On June 12, 2015 at approximately 1100 CDT, a Grumman aircraft, model G-164B, s/n 157B, N48687 departed Bloomfield Nebraska airport (84Y) to conduct an aerial application flight by applying herbicide to a pasture. At approximately 1215 CDT, 2.5 miles northwest of Foster, Nebraska, the aircraft was in a turning steep bank preparing for the final pass of the pasture when, without warning, the engine stopped producing power. The aircraft made an off-field controlled landing into a water soaked pasture adjacent to the pasture he was spraying. The left main landing gear was lowered into the mud/water/grass for approximately 110 yards to reduce forward airspeed. As energy was depleted, the right main landing gear settled into the mud/water/grass, the aircraft wheels caught the terrain and the aircraft flipped onto its top. The pilot was able to evacuate the aircraft under his own power and received no injuries. The aircraft damage was substantial.
