From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft departed tri city airport (3G6), on runway 35, approximately 1830 local. The pilots intentions were for a local test flight of the aircraft as it hasn't been flown for at least the last 4 years. A local resident found the aircraft wreckage in his soybean field. The aircraft hit nose down about 1/2 mile northeast of the approach end of runway 17. There was substantial damage to the aircraft. There were no witnesses. On July 7, 2015 I spoke with the mahoning county cororner to get the results from the autopsy. The cororner informed me that there were indications the pilot was deceased before the crash. He might have had a heart attack.
