From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Early morning flight over and around crooked lake, babron park, Florida. Pilot had made four water take-off's and landings. Flying downwind in easterly direction, decending left turn to go into the wind west and make landing number five. Aircraft made hard landing either left pontoon or wing tip hit water first, then spun 180 degrees in water, right pontoon dug in, aircraft flipped over, pilot unbuckeled seat belt and swam up to surface. Subsequent damage to pontoon and propeller, after propeller hit it. Minor damage to wing support tube.
