From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot was enroute to iwa when his engine monitoring / fadec screen gave him an indication of RH "engine error". After checking all engine indications and finding no other malfunction indication he cleared the error message. The aircraft continued flight to iwa without further issue. After landing the engine was test run and found indications all within normal parameters.

The pilot then transited the area to sdl to have maintenance facility check his indicating system. Maintenance performed download of engine codes & found ecub on RH fadec at "health 7", & ecua at "health 9" code. Codes were cleared and engine run with no defaults indicated.

Maintenance conferred with the engine monitro manufacturer - Continental motors, it was determined that there was an anomaly of the ecub mao (manifold) sensor. Maintenance received direction from Continental motors that the manifold sensor in the onboard computer was not calibrated right. This issue was described to be a software "nuisance error" which was corrected by replacement of the fadec unit.

The aircraft has operated since this replacement with no further engine error indications.

As the FAA filed it
