From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC stated he departed Orlando executive airport (korl) in Cessna N704SB, a CE-150M, on Thursday 07/23/2015, at 19:30LT. After flying over lake Apopka he decided to perform touch & go exercise at Orlando Apopka Airport (X04). Following a touch & go on runway 33 during the takeoff climb several birds crossed in front of the aircraft. One of the birds hit the airframe, the stall warning caution alarmed and the pilot decided to abort the power just passed the halfway point of the runway. The pilot was unable to stop the aircraft on the remainder of the runway resulting in the aircraft impacting with a dune past the end of the runway threshold and flipping over onto the aircraft top.

The pilot and passenger safely unbuckled the harnesses, turned off the electrical and fuel systems and awaited the arrival of the emergency services.

The Apopka police and fire department responded within 30 minutes. The aircraft was secured and left at the impact site, off of the airport property.

The pilot and passenger sustained no injuries, no damage occurred to the runway nor its surrounding area

The aircraft was severely damaged possibly unrepairable.
