What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 2, 2015 at approximately 3:00PM, the pilot of aircraft N234S, a zodiac 601 xlb experienced severe vibration after performing touch and go?s at lenhardt?s airpark (7S9). The pilot stated that he became concerned about a vibration he had begun to feel and as a precaution, began to return to lenhardt?s, the vibration became so severe that he thought that the engine might break away from the mounts and elected to shut the engine down, and attempt to glide to the runway. The drag of the wind milling propeller negatively affected his glide ratio and undershot the run way by two and one half miles. He made a successful emergency landing in a field with an above ground rolling irrigation system. During roll out, he was unable to stop prior to striking an irrigation pipe stantion/wheel assembly with his right wing. The aircraft was substantially damaged . The pilot was not injured.
