From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 3, 2015 at 0930 CDT an experimental aircraft, Lancair 320FB, N90DH, had an incident while on a pleasure flight at Pecan plantation airport (0TX1). During the approach to 0TX1, the pilot noticed the nose gear annunciator was not illuminated indicating the nose gear may not be down and locked and there was an indication of low hydraulic pressure. When the pilot decided to land, and hope for the best, the nose gear collapsed on roll out. The main gears did extend properly. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed (VMC) and there was no flight plan filed. The aircraft had minor damage and the pilot was the only one on board receiving no injuries. The pilot holds a private pilot, single engine land rating. The flight originated at Pecan plantation 0TX1, on August 3, 2015 at approximately 0900 CDT.
