From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Airman was preparing to taxi when the wind turned his aircraft parallel to the shoreline. Airman got out of the aircraft believing he had pulled the mixture to shutdown the engine. However, the engine was still idling and moving forward. Airman got back in the aircraft and turned off the key and master switch. The aircraft continued to move forward so the airman entered the water in an attempt to stop its movement. The aircraft?s propeller contacted the left side horizontal stabilizer of an aircraft parked nearby.
