From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On August 12 2015 a ground handler was pinned between a belt loader and a compass airlines aircraft, N204NN, and received severe injuries. The aircraft was being prepared for flight 5931. The captain was on the flight deck performing the preflight duties. The first officer was conducting the preflight walkaround. Two flight attendants were on the aircraft preparing the cabin for boarding.

Ground handling services for compass airlines is provided by envoy air inc. (sima). The employee (#1) that was injured was training the employee (#2) that was driving the belt loader. While employee 1 was standing in front of but to the left of the belt loader reached across the employee 2 to jiggle the gear selector handle while employee 2 was raising the belt. At some point employee 2 took his foot of the brake. The belt loader "lurched forward" pinning employee 1 between the aircraft and the belt loader. Employee 1 was transported to the hospital via helicopter.
