The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
The following is the pilots narrative: N613GA was on climb from rwy 25 at korl at approximately 1320 LCL. Passing 2000 ft. I observed a turkey buzzard above the aircraft begin to dive to miss the airplane. I attempted to evade by turning right. The turkey buzzard struck the lower outboard left wing. I advised apch control that I had a bird strike and needed to return to korl. Apch control turned me over to korl tower, N613GA entered a right downwind for rwy 25 and landed without further incident. The airplane flew normal throughout the return and landing at korl. I taxied to sheltair to inspect the damage.
Damage was a dent to the leading edge skin and 1 rib. The deice boot was not damaged nor any of the wing tip.
Korl tower, korl airport op?s and Orlando fire department were briefed of the incident.
Exec aero was contracted to do the skin repair..
Exec aero completed the work on 9/1/2015 and returned the aircraft to service.
I completed the online bird/wildlife strike report and the online NASA report on 8/28/2015.
FAA iic contacted maintenance provider exec aero, exec aero stated that the damage affected two false ribs and a portion of the leading edge. The leading edge was replaced from the most outboard wing rib to the next inboard seam and a form 337 was generated for the major repair, exec aero said there was no damage to the main wing spar. Damage to wing leading edge was approximately from LH w.s. 291.3 to LH w.s. 318.9 (27 inches in length), the wing tip and most outboard wing rib were not affected.
