From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

9/4/15 Was on a flight back from ftw to apa and was cleared to land 28. He acknowledges but does not get runway 28 in sight. Ends up going around due to off center and past the numbers for 28, gets cleared to land 17L. On initial touch down bounces aircraft, adds power bounces again this time on the nose gear, decides for go around due to aircraft starting to porpoise. Tower advises someone on ground reports it appeared nose gear was damaged and request pilot?s intention. Tower requests that he flies by the tower for them to look at. On fly by tower see?s nose wheel is broke and hanging on to the strut. Sends him out to parker road and 470 to do 360?s until arf is called out. Finally lands and nose gear collapsed. Damage to prop, engine cowl and engine/nose gear tube assembly.
