From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft departed hwo at approximately 1605L operating under 14 CFR part 91 and proceeded VFR towards the beach. Approximately 15 minutes into flight, the aircraft began experiencing engine problems climbing through 800 feet and ultimately shutdown. All attempts to restart the engine failed. The pilot stated he noticed an open, flat area on the beach that was unoccupied and elected to make an emergnecy landing. The aircraft landed power off and stopped on beach behind a hotel. The aircraft received only slight damage to nose cone and cowling as it dung into the sand and tilted forward. The engine was not running and propeller received no damage.
