From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After takeoff from hio the student pilot who was not qulified/endorsed for multi-engine moved the landing gear handle and retracted the landing gear. The instructor noticed a red gear unsafe light. The instructor then extended the landing gear with the gear handle and the green locked light for only the left main and nose gear landing gear was illuminated. Several attempts were made to remedy the situation but it appeared the right main landing gear was stuck in the up unsafe position. It was decided to land with the landing gear up. The landing at hio resulted in minor scuffing to the lower fuselage and right landing gear tire, damage to the right step, and damage to antennas and vent tubes. An inspection after landing revealed the center hinge of the right landing torque link had separated. The cotter pin and nut were missing from the bolt that held the hinge together.
