From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot stated, when returning from flx he entered the traffic pattern to runway 26 at rts. The weather was VFR with winds at 22 knots gusting to 35 in a quartering cross wind from the left. As approaching the right base turn, the pilots attention was drawn to the landing traffic. This distraction occurred at the point that the pilot would normally lower the landing gear. The pilot lowered the flaps on final and was focused on the runway center line due to the gusty wind conditions. The aircraft touched down with the landing gear retracted. The aircraft landing checklist was in the pilots hand during the above landing sequence.

As the FAA filed it
