From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

This aircraft departed camarillo-kcma airport at 09:11 hours with full fuel tanks according to an interview with the mishap pilot. He was engaged in high altitude aerial surveys -- in san diego vicinity and stated he intended to refuel at Brackett Field while enroute home. At 12500 ft and while descending to land at Brackett Field for refuel, he stated he experienced an engine failure at 13:38 hours (approximate). While it was descending the aircraft, then hit an advertising sign located at Pomona raceway, approximately 45 ft AGL with its left wing-- cartwheeling, sideways along it's final approach path and impacted a highway, inverted and skidded another 75 ft into a chain link-fence coming to rest along the perimeter of the aiport (poc). A post crash fire consumed 90% of this aircraft. At the teardown conducted at chino airport on January 6, 2016 the contractor identified 9 quarts of water in the right wing fuel cell during the post crash investigation.
