From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Instructor and student pilot completed a localizer approach on runway 9L at Opa Locka Executive Airport (kopf) and requested a circle-to-land on runway 9R. As they were in the left turn from base to final to 9R, both pilots felt and heard the heavy thud and the airplane yawed to the left momentarily. At the time, the aircraft was approximately 300 ft AGL and 1 mile west/nw of 9R, and the left wing was low as the aircraft went into a turn. The student pilot saw the bird momentarily as it flew from right side and below the aircraft before the impact. The damage to the wing was clearly visible from inside the aircraft. At this point, the instructor took the controls as a precaution, reported the strike to the tower and landed without incident. The aircraft N5352K, was grounded and removed from service, and awaiting repair. Damage to the aircraft was limited to the leading edge of the wing. No injuries.

As the FAA filed it
