The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Aircraft ground-looped on landing. Aircraft departed from harlingen Texas (khrl) and after airborne avionics calibration flew to Port Mansfield, Texas (charles r. johnson field - T05) for touch and go landings on runway 12. Pilot stated he made a long and stable approach with full flaps down. Pilot stated that he had full aft stick at touch down and ?caught a bounce? Then got a little crosswind under the wing and the aircraft ?got away from me?. Pilot stated that this was only the second time he had landed a tailwheel aircraft on a paved runway. There were no injuries. Port Mansfield airport does not have weather reporting equipment, but nearby airports reported winds 150/007 knots at the time of incident. Damage to the aircraft included collapsed right main landing gear, dented fuselage skin under cockpit, scraped right wingtip, wrinkled fabric skin on top right wing, and dented leading edge of right wing. NTSB investigator categorized event as an incident, not an accident.
