From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

After aircraft annual inspection was competed at lake view airport (13C), aircraft was flown to its base airport Mount Pleasant Municipal Airport (mop). The flight was 29 statute miles long. Pilot entered mop right hand down wind pattern to runway 27, selected 5% flaps to help slow down aircraft and fuel tank selector was checked to be on main tanks for both engines. Pilot lowered and checked landing gear was down, as he turned to base leg he saw the left main gear was down then turning to final to runway 27, he moved props to minimum pitch and put flaps to full down. At the right speeds pilot flare the aircraft, settled down and the main gear folded back up and the front gear stayed down holding the nose high. The aircraft came to a stop on the runway sitting on its nose wheel and the rear main gear doors. Pilot turned the mixture control to full close; fuel shut off and master electrical switch off. Pilot exited the aircraft and walked to the airport office and asked the airport manager to close the runway. Pilot called for help to lift the tail up, moved the gear down and forward and heard and felt it lock down. Then aircraft was towed the aircraft to the hangar. Damage was to aircraft only and limited to main landing gear doors, aft engine prop strike and minor tail boom scrape on bottom of vertical stabilizers.
