From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

At approximately 1800 HST 25 feb 2016 the honolulu cmo was notified that aero micornesia dba asia pacific had a B-727-200 airborne, N86425, that could not lower the nose landing gear (NLG). At 2030 HST the office was notified by the director of maintenance privacy data omitted that the aircraft was on ground safely and all crew were unharmed. The aircraft did ultimately make a nose landing gear up landing. At that time the FAA notified both the roc and the NTSB. At 2130 HST the aircraft was released to the operator to remove it from the landing area to a point where it would be placed under a guard and no one was to disturb it for investigation purposes.

During the disassemble phase of the NLG assembly it was discovered that the lock actuating arm on the drag brace assembly had broken. Pictures and a report have subsequently been sent to both the NTSB and FAA engineering/certification offices for further investigation.

As of the closing of the investigation the aircraft is currently undergoing repair work for return to service.
