From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On March 10, 2016 at 1100 (PDT) , privacy data omitted was taking off runway 21R in N44AZ, Lancair Es, at Prescott municipal airport (prc) with just himself onboard. Shortly after he was airborne he noticed a loss in power and could not maintain altitude. He pitched forward and slightly to the left to avoid a self-service fuel station and landed on bravo taxiway. He could not slowdown before reaching the end of bravo taxiway and crossed through the grass and across taxiway foxtrot. He then entered the grass again and struck a foundation platform in grass with the nose gear and slid across runway 12 and then slid to a stop in the grass on the other side of the runway.
