From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During the landing/touchdown event, when the nose gear contacted the runway surface, a failure of the welded joint at the base of the nose strut/fork flange area occurred. This caused the nose of the aircraft to drop and allow the propeller to contact the runway surface. In addition, the RH wing dipped and contacted the runway surface as well. Damage to the RH outboard wing area was only to secondary structure with no apparent damage occurring to the spar.

Airman elected to not provide required maintenance documentation upon request from anc FSDO inspector. Inspector wrote letter and counseled to bring airman into compliance with federal aviation regulations. Airman called anc FSDO inspector and has elected to cooperate by providing required maintenance documents. See ptrs #AL03201602824 for pertinent details.

04/19/2016 Entry: on 04/06/2016 an envelope was received from airman containing the requested documents. A document review of the maintenence records showing the last condition inspection was performed, showing proper compliance.

As the FAA filed it
