From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Thursday March 24 @ approximately 12:10 PST immediately after takeoff San Jose ATCT was notified by the PIC of N871AT that the aircraft was experiencing a hydraulic problem and needed to return to the airport. The aircraft made a pass over runway 30L to certify with ATC whether or not the gear appeared down which the tower confirmed. Sjc emergency vehicles were dispatched. Upon touchdown on 30 left at about the 2000 foot markers, the gear collapsed and the aircraft slid approximately 1000 feet, coming to rest approximately 3000 feet from the runway threshold on a heading of approximately 320 degrees to the left of the center line of the runway. The pilot and three passengers then evacuated the aircraft and no injuries were reported.
