From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

I spoke to privacy data omitted regarding his incident with the pole at Fulton County Airport (NY0). After landing he was in the process of taxing the aircraft to park at a tie-down spot. He describes this as the last tie-down spot near the NE corner of the main airport building. As he made the turn, to his left, he felt a bump and noticed his right wing had hit a pole. He had to shut down, get out and the push the aircraft back away from the pole so the he could continue to park. When asked about the pole he said it was painted a silver/gray and was about 4 to 5 feet tall. privacy data omitted Stated that his mechanical knowledge of aircraft is not extensive. Therefore, he asked a person, who he said was a CFI, to evaluate the damage to the aircraft for him. He was told the damage was not that bad and that he could fly the aircraft. He then made the decision to fly back to albany international airport (alb), where the damage was noticed by an anonymous person who called this office.
