From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

A student pilot on his first solo cross country from kdsm to kaio. The student pilot initiated a landing attempt on runway 02 at kaio. The landing resulted in a bounce off of the runway with a go-around to attempt a second landing. The second landing also resulted in a bounce off of the runway with a go-around. The student pilot decided to return to kdsm without completing a full stop landing at kiao. Upon arriving at kdsm and attempting to land on runway 31 the student pilot again bounced the aircraft off the runway. With no go-around attempt the aircraft continued to bounce two maybe three times before it spun around and slid off the side of the runway into the grass. During egress from the aircraft the student pilot noticed the propeller damage.
