From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On 05/25/2016, at approximately 1228 PDT, accident pilot was conducting touch and go maneuvers in the accident aircraft on runway 26 at the Camarillo Airport, Camarillo, CA.

During his final touch and go maneuver, pilot was distracted during completion of his checklist by a radio call by the air traffic control tower, indicating his aircraft was number 2 to land, after another aircraft, on a one mile final approach for runway 26.

While looking to clear landing traffic ahead of him, pilot failed to lower the nose landing gear on his aircraft, and landed nose gear-up on runway 26.

The airplane was taken to the pilot's hangar, where the iic inspected the airplane for damage. Found minor damage to the lower nose section.
