From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot and only occupant of N3788M was conducting full stop and go take off and landing (tail wheel airplane), pilot stated that he conducted nine (9) stop and go take off and landings and was landing on his 10th and final landing, after touching down of the hard surface runway (runway 22), PIC stated that a gust of wind lifted the left wing and brought the left main wheel off the pavement, PIC stated winds had been 5-10 knots with 20-30 degrees of runway heading. This induced a swerve to the left, as the PIC brought the wing down and was correcting for the swerve, the PIC applied the brakes which brought the tail up, PIC was not able to stop the momentum of the tail, a prop strike resulted as the aircraft came to rest on its nose.
