From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Light sport aircraft Rans S-6S N95669 privacy data omitted approached his private grass runway for landing to the east. Pilot reports wind at crosswind from the south to possible quartering tailwind from the southwest. Pilot attempted to touchdown beyond an area of standing water approximately 1/3 from the approach end of the runway. Pilot reports that he had difficulty getting the aircraft to touchdown. Aircraft touchdown occurred approximately 2/3 down the runway. Pilot was unable to stop the aircraft before reaching end of runway and elected to apply full power and take-off again. Aircraft made contact with small berm at edge of greenville treaty line road. Pilot reports aircraft became airborne and lost airspeed resulting in a stall that caused the aircraft to wing over into a soybean field. This resulted in a cartwheel of the aircraft ending up inverted in the field. Pilot was able to egress himself and help his passenger (wife) to egress. At this point the passenger sustained minor injury to her shoulder from hanging in the restraint system.
