From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

While practicing touch-and-go landings on runway 15R at the Santa Barbara Municipal Airport (ksba), Santa Barbara, CA, with "left closed traffic," pilot began having problems slowing the aircraft down. On his final approach, at approximately 70-80 KTS, the aircraft experienced ground effect, touched down about mid-field, and the nose of the aircraft bounced three times. Pilot did not realize at the time of impact, that the propeller had struck the runway. The pilot discovered the bent blade tips while tying down the aircraft.
