On July 18, 2016, at 1915 CDT a Sonex, N393SX, made an emergency landing at 9WN5 following a partial power loss. After touchdown the nose gear collapsed rearward into the firewall and the left main gear was sheared off. The firewall sustained damage to the lower portion from contact with the nose strut. The sport pilot was the sole occupant and received no injuries. The aircraft received substantial damage. The aircraft was being operated by the sport pilot on a local flight from 9WN5, and was approximately 3.5 miles northwest of the airport when the power loss occurred.
