From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

During a flight from oshkosh, Wisconsin (kosh) to morris Illinois (C09), N211FC, a Cessna 172 (CE-172) encountered mechanical issues with the aircraft?s engine requiring an emergency landing. The pilot-in-command of N211FC was at approximately 2500 feet mean sea level when the engine began to lose power. The pilot-in-command made an emergency landing in a hay field located in Newark Illinois.

During the emergency landing, the pilot-in-command of N211FC struck a berm in the field causing the aircraft to become airborne again. Upon landing in a nose low attitude caused the propeller to bend and the nose landing gear was torn from the mount at the firewall. During inspection of the aircraft, it was determined the firewall was damaged during the emergency landing.
