From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

@ 1928Z (3:28PM (l)), N48810, C152, dean international (D4RS) aircraft. Two persons on board with no injuries and no obvious damage to the airframe.

Student on a private pilot check ride with a designated pilot examiner. The examiner failed the student and took controls to be able to discuss issues as they returned to the airport. Approximately a mile from the airport the aircraft engine lost almost all power and had loud noises. The DPE suspected a valve failure. The DPE decided to make an off-field landing on a dirt road next to a farming field. The landing was uneventful and the engine was still turning but not producing any appreciable thrust. Inspector garcia and I showed up at scene at approximately 6PM. Copied the pilots and aircraft records. Inspector garcia inspected the aircraft while I interviewed the pilots. Statements were requested from the pilots and the aircraft was released to be moved. Maintenance records were requested by inspector garcia from privacy data omitted.
