From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The pilot stated that he had flown for about an hour before he returned to the airport. When turning onto the base leg, he reduced engine RPM and the engine lost all power. The pilot realized he was not going to make the runway and attempted to land in a field. The airplane struck a power line and landed hard resulting in substantial damage to the wings, firewall, and fuselage.

The aircraft was equipped with dynon skyview SV-D700 and SV-D1000 displays. This system interfaces with an engine monitoring unit that provides the interface between the skyview display and the engine and aircraft sensors.

An FAA form 8020-2, aircraft/parts identification and release was completed and provided to the owner of the aircraft.

These aforementioned items were sent to the NTSB for download and data storage review. After review of the stored information, an ammendment to this record will be performed and a different corrective action may be decided.

As the FAA filed it
