From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC privacy data omitted was flying a local flight at his personal grass airport near Cardington Ohio. He decided to change landing direction from north to south due to children flying kites off to side of runway near the south end of the grass strip. Pilot landed and as he rolled near the area of the children he veered right and got his RH main wheel into some taller grass. At this point he attempted a go around. Upon application of power the aircraft did not immediately respond with increased engine power and rolled off the end of the runway. The aircraft hit a barn and passed through it to the other side. The aircraft caught fire and was heavily burned/destroyed. The lone occupant egressed with minor injuries.
