From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Aircraft was taxiing to runway 34. Witnesses observed aircraft taxi first to runway 16 then at a high rate of speed to runway 34. Instead of stopping in runup area of runway 34, aircraft continued, going off into soft ground. Aircraft had nose gear collapse then traveled for approximately 150 feet in soft terrain. It appeared that pilot was attempting to get back on the taxi way and that the aircraft speed was excessive from marks left in the rough ground from the aircrafts landing gear. Pilot's statement is as follows:

Statement: taxi to rw 34 sneezed hit throttle, applied brakes, could not stop, went into the brush. Signed copy to follow>
