What happened
The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.
Aircraft was attempting to land runway 13 st. Augustine, Florida (sgj), about ten feet above the runway, when the pilot experienced a wind sheer (crosswind approximate gust of 30 knots as reported by airport). The effects of the crosswind caused the nose to dip down, causing an impact with the runway, that was severe enough to shear the nose landing gear. The aircraft slid down the runway and came to rest on the grassy area just south of the northern runway. Substantial damage to the engine mount and the firewall, as well as damage to the nose gear mount.
