From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On September 18, 2016, at 1300 PST, N57TJ, a seawind 3000 amphibious experimental amateur-built aircraft executed an emergency landing at Renton Municipal Airport (rnt) due to loss of hydraulic pressure. According to information obtained from the tower control, privacy data omittedpilot called rnt tower approximately 9 miles north of the airport requesting to enter the pattern for verification of its landing gear configuration. Renton tower confirmed the right main landing gear was down and left and nose gear was up. Pilot indicated that he performed a pre-landing check and noticed that the right main landing gear indicator light was out and the hydraulic pressure is reading zero. Pilot attempted to retract the right main landing gear to create an option for water landing but could not get the right main landing gear to retract. Pilot stated that he orbited east of the airport and made an attempt to use the back-up manual hydraulic pump and performed abrupt maneuvers hoping to extend the left main landing gear but without success. After exhausting all options, pilot requested to land on runway 16. Aircraft touched down approximately 1/3 of the runway with only the right gear and no flaps at an estimated ground speed of 90 mph, maintained aircraft on the pavement until around 70 mph when the left wing tip contacted the ground whcih caused the aircraft to slid to the left and exited the runway surface at the 2000 ft remaining marker colliding with the taxiway identifier sign, and spun around 180 degrees, and came to rest just north of the taxiway bravo. The two occupants exited the aircraft without assistance and received no serious injuries. The aircraft sustained substantial damage.

As the FAA filed it

ON SEPTEMBER 18, 2016, AT 1300 PST, N57TJ, A SEAWIND 3000 AMPHIBIOUS EXPERIMENTAL AMATEUR-BUILT AIRCRAFT EXECUTED AN EMERGENCY LANDING AT RENTON MUNICIPAL AIRPORT (RNT) DUE TO LOSS OF HYDRAULIC PRESSURE. ACCORDING TO INFORMATION OBTAINED FROM THE TOWER CONTROL, ^PRIVACY DATA OMITTED^PILOT CALLED RNT TOWER APPROXIMATELY 9 MILES NORTH OF THE AIRPORT REQUESTING TO ENTER THE PATTERN FOR VERIFICATION OF ITS LANDING GEAR CONFIGURATION.
