From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The aircraft departed ikv, ankeny, Iowa with destination of lxt. Upon landing on runway 18 at lxt, the pilot attempted a ?touch-and-go?. After lifting off the runway surface, the aircraft began to climb and bank to the right. The aircraft continued a climbing right hand turn, lost altitude, and impacted the airport ramp area on the west side of the airport on a heading of approximately 350 degrees. The aircraft impacted the terrain in a right wing and nose down attitude approximately 25 feet from the edge of the ramp. Upon impact, the right wing separated from the fuselage and the aircraft continued to slide along the same heading on airport ramp surface before coming to a rest approximately 300 feet from initial impact point.
