From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

Pilot took off from lone rock WI. Where he took on fuel (10 gal.) And topped off the tanks. He was en-route to MFD, at about 3 hours and 10 minutes into the flight (from stop watch inside aircraft) the engine lost all power (no prior indications). Pilot attempted to restore power, used emergency procedures and was not able to re-start engine. Pilot set up to land on a plowed field (west to east direction). Pilot landed smooth then encountered some rough area of the field, pilot gradually applied brakes (because he was approaching a road) and the aircraft flipped over.

It was noted at the scene that some fuel was leaking from the tanks as the aircraft was upside down.

The damage to the right wing was caused by first responders removing the pilot from the aircraft.
