From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

PIC stated that planned flight was delayed due to high winds in area. At 1800 hrs (l) departed Bennett airstrip. PIC stated aircraft was airborne at approx 600? Of 1200? Strip length. Aircraft was not gaining altitude, PIC stated he thinks a gust of wind hit nose of aircraft and would not allow aircraft to gain altitude or come out of ground effect. Aircraft gear was hitting brush and PIC set aircraft down on gravel bar next to river. At that point the left gear collapsed onto left wing strut and aircraft came to rest on left wing tip. PIC stated he did not notice what fuel flow or manifold pressure of aircraft was at time due to flying the aircraft.
