From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

The PIC was a student pilot on his first solo flight at Gillespie Field in a Cessna 172. After landing on runway 27L, the PIC attempted to make a left turn onto taxiway alpha. The PIC did not continue in the turn which caused the aircraft to veer to the right of the paved area into the dirt. The aircraft then came to a stop in the dirt oval between taxiway alpha and delta three. The PIC was not injured and there was no damage to the airport or aircraft.
