From the FAA’s Accident/Incident Data System (AIDS), through its Aviation Safety Information Portal, as reported. The NTSB investigates accidents separately, and its record of an accident is the fuller one. The aircraft is matched to the registry by N-number and event date, checked against the reported make and model; the registry’s history has gaps, so older matches can be wrong. Compare the reported make and model.

What happened

The FAA’s narrative, in sentence case. The FAA writes it in capitals and removes private details.

On October 25, 2016 the pilot of aircraft N370MA serial #3705A departed (klqk) pickens county airport pickens, south carolina at approximately 4:30PM, destination Deland municipal airport-Sidney h Taylor field Deland, Florida, (kded). Whether conditions were good the durration of flight (VFR).

Aircraft approached ded at approximately 5:45. Daytona approach advised multiple aircrafts in the pattern, and parachute jumping activity inprogress. Winds were favoring rwy 5, the current active rwy.

The pilot was monitoring his garmin traffic avoidance, system and visually looking for traffic. He stated that he was familiar with ded student pilot traffic and is always extremely cautious to stay high and wide. The pilot then made contact with only one aircraft who announced he was a full stop. The pilot of N370MA could hear the others stating their position and intentions, but had no reply to his many position announcements.

He deployed flaps 5 at 1200 ft and retarded throttles, ran his checklist. He visually saw the traffic on short final who had announced a full stop landing. He communicated his position and intentions to be second after the full stop. He then went flaps 20 and would normally at that time dropped the gear. He proceeded to do s turns while descended through 800FT to slow his time to touchdown. He was still monitoring his garmin traffic avoidance, system and visually looking for traffic, trying to determine his exit strategy from the impending landing should he need to go around. He was just about to declare a go around when he saw the traffic exit the runway. It was at that time he decided to complete the landing (he also might of retracted the landing gear to do the go around) he stated that it was very busy while making the final decision to complete the landing. Performed a good landing. Down the center line. He then noticed what felt like a collapsed nose gear, at which time he tried to exit the active rwy. During this event the right propeller touched the pavement. He immediately shut down condition levers off. Closed power via the key then shut down the switches ? Verified his passengers were okay and realized the landing gear had not been deployed.

As the FAA filed it
